In Development

Heir

Woman lying sideways on red floor holding a stuffed cat.

Debuting at Melbourne Fringe 2026, Heir is an intimate, real time, two-hander. It takes the form of a psychological thriller all contained in the intimacy of a social worker's office in current day Melbourne. It is a play about male shame, grief, childhood, how mothers often bear the brunt of abuse to protect their children thereby becoming the abuser’s secret-keepers, and how this secrecy serves only to perpetuate the cycles of trauma and abuse within families.

Descent

Group discussion around a table in a casual setting.

Created as part of the VCA's Masters of Theatre Writing course,

Descent is an exploration of race, inequality, privilege and inherited beliefs told in two Acts across two countries, roughly 30 years apart.

The first act takes place in a mining town in South Africa in 1990 in the aftermath of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, and the second in a cosmopolitan and multicultural city in the present day.
